I went and cleaned out MAF out then resetted the ECU. Now the MPH meter seems to be jacked up. Its going up slower than normal on 1st gear. Does anyone know whats up with this?

what process did you go through to reset the ECU? did you do anything else? i dont think that would be electrical, i think it would have to do w/the speedo cable, or do our speedo's run off a lot of electrical equipment?

Did this just start to happen when you cleaned the MAF? Hopefully the MAF isn't damaged. When you say slower does it feel like it's bogged down when you accelerate?

No it doesnt bog. Its just that the MPH meter goes up slow but the acceleration is the same. Its just annoying to see how the meter goes up so slow. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for about 20 mins is how I reset the ECU.

I tested the MAF out with my bro's celi. I cleaned my MAF but I didnt touch his MAF. I switched the MAF's then reset the ECU. Everything is normal except for the MPH meter.

for some reason..when i reset the ECU, the engine bogs...even when warmed up. After a bit of driving, the bog goes away...this even happened when everything was stock...never understood why...maybe ECU is learning?

I would take your car out, run it until it reaches its operating temperature & reset the ECU again. That might fix it. thumbsup

yea you have to cycle it give your ECU time to think about the changes... that should work.

Just got finished doing what Hauling_Doo said. Still same results with the speedometer. Also, if you know about the hidden lines on the temperature meter. The bar doesnt go all the way to half. Its one step away from the half mark. Ran the car for couple hours and same result.

I understand now. You must be new to driving a Celica. The reset and cleaning of the MAF always throws my car off until it "learns". Like said before. The temp. gauge will only go in increments till about half or so and then full (over heat). You can actually see the bars when the car is turned off. That's Toyota for you. I will say don't worry and relax. Give it time. You wil see everything will be alright. Unless you had some major problems to begin with. Then just cleaning the MAFS won't get rid of it.
