Celica Forums Classic Generations 5th Generation Celica 1992 Celica Windows and Door lock trouble

Hello. I am new to the forum, and of course, looking for help. I have a '92 Celica GT. The power windows and door locks suddenly stopped working on both the driver and passenger side and neither control works from the passenger or driver side. I have closely checked the switches and wiring harnesses, but I suspect neither is the issue.

Obviously, the first thing I looked for was a blown fuse for the windows/doorlocks, but I cannot locate these fuses. I had a toyota dealer tell me that this Celica does not use a fuse for windows/doorlocks. Then, an import specialist told me that there is a fuse for these .

Can anyone tell me where these fuses would be in a '92 Celica? My Haynes manual is of no help here.

there is 2 fuse boxes under the hood, which contain the larger fuses (usually associated which more mechanical stuff) then under the drive side dash, compacted below near your pedals, is a fuse box conatining some smaller ones ( it would prolly be in there, if anywhere) then on the passengers side, under the Kick Panels(Door Sills) that pull off witha small tug (Yellow Clips) there is a small fuse box, that also contains more fuses, So there for you have a lot of searching to do, to figure out which one it is.

All i gotta say is good luck, and prolly get a fuse kit...and tester...it will help. Good luck

Hey WyTe_91, thanks for the valuable info. I have checked all of the small fuses in the car and they are all ok. I'm wondering if it is one of the larger box fuses behind one of the kick panels.

If somehow one of the switches got disconnected, neither will work so you might want to look out for that.

I found that out when I took apart my Celica door panel and disconnected the switch.

Could or couldn't be, but I had a similar problem and turned out all the wiring in the door gromet (where the hinges are) got messed up really bad so I had to rewire it ALL (:

have you tried that one black button on there, its a window lock...i dunno... just a thought?
