Golly Ken - not sure if there's a question in there somewhere or not. Maybe you need 'prepositional phrase software' on your PC (jk)

As long as you maintain your engine, change plugs and lift bolts everyonce in awhile you wont see any less performance

Hey Ken, learn to use proper grammer, Couldn't understand a damn word. I don't know that much about engine deterioration, but common sense would say that a car with lower mileage is better than high mileage. Also, Toyota has the tendency to have extremely tight seals from factory, so it takes awhile, probably around 10K miles to loosen up. That's when it's the fastest.

I baught mine at 59. got a free dyno at import atlanta tunerfest shoot out w/ maybe 65K w/ a bluebomber modded Knock-off CAI w/ no muffler and I dynoed at 163 at 100+ degrees outside. Anotehr GTS was there, It had like 30K, he had a AEM CAI and a Kazuma exhaust, but this guy didn't know what the hell he was talking trash about how his shit runs better. Well, he dynoed at like 156 or so. Oh yea I also has a slipping clutch. what I'm trying to get at is mileage isn't the MAIN factor. find out who owned and if they took care of it

Higher mileage means less HP and more problems every where else. The past owner probably beat on the car every so often whether you want to believe it or not. Get a compression check and vavle clearance check if you want to be somewhat sure about the engine. Everything else especially the transmission, clutch and such, good luck. Not to scare you. Everything is probably fine.
Depends on the owner, but I never saw anyone that would initialy get a Celica and not push it at least once or twice. It becomes addicting after the first time until things start going wrong and just sell it or deal.
I had bought cars off of Grandmas (Toyotas) that had high mileage. They lasted 40,000 or so miles in my hands. Problems upon problems because I drove them like they should have been, but the high mileage factor that I forgot.
No one in their right minds would buy a Celica if they didn't intend to push it every so often. That's what it's made for and that's why it breaks.
After owning a Celica (GTS), I would never buy a used one. Just me.
