Hello, This is my first post so bare with me. I am going to be getting a 2003 Celica GTS Soon. I Will have approximately. $10,000 left that I want to spend on a new engine, more powerful. I know a lot of you will think it's dumb, but I want something with more power. I really want the celica though. I was wondering with modifications under the hood, if I would be able to fit a custom built V6 under in the celica. Also, how hard would it be? Thanks for answering my question, Brandon

For 10 grand that you have to blow on aftermarket for your car, I say you slap a turbo or super charger on there. They say there is no replacement for displacement, but there is and it is called forced induction.
If you REALLY REALLY want to do a motor swap. Swap your 2zz-ge engine for a 3SGTE engine or if possible a 2jz-gte engine. The 2jz-gte engine might be TOO big but I think anything is possible. [ 01-04-2003, 09:27 AM: Message edited by: Steven ]

Thank you, of those two you suggested, which would be the better option? Thanks.

I have yet to purchase the celica as of yet. I will be getting new wheels and other visuals after I am finished with the engine and 'under the hood' stuff. My father is a mechanic and he will be helping me on my car when I come to a problem. I am satisfied with the looks of the Celica so I am putting off graphics and a body kit till a little later. Thank you guys for your help.

At this time I have no more questions, I have been roaming the boards for about 6 months. It's nice to finally be registered. You all seem very friendly and unlike a lot of boards, I have seen no flaming. Great site.

so you are gonna get a gts and change the engine? if you are gonna change he engine wouldn't it be cheaper to get the gt, or are you wanting other options the gts has? i'm just curious.

Chiller has a very valid point. If you're going to change the engine out, get a GT. Otherwise, there are a few turbo's/sc's in progress right now for the GTS and a ton of other mods available for the engine or appearance.

I know what you both mean. But as Chiller said, I like the gts' options. Also, if the engine idea didn't work, I would want a gts.
