GB: * TPR Aluminum Underbody Panel *

Hey Guys,

I am proud to announce that Tuning Precision Racing will soon be offering an aluminum underbody panel to replace the stock plastcis that (as I'm sure most of you know) fall off and get ripped apart far too easily.

This panel will be made of 1/8" T4 Aluminum. Weighing rougly 15lbs, it will be strong enough to take on all but the most substantial road debris. We have designed in an oil change access panel large enough to drain the oil and replace the Oil Filter, that way you wownt need to remove the whole panel any time you change the oil. The panel will be affixed in at least 4 places: two rear mounts (inbetween the front wheels) and two forward mounts (right behind the radiator). Also, depending on if you have a body kit or not, you should be able to affix the panel to the front lip also.

We are selling the panel for $215 + shipping, which when you concider the only other competition for this is the C-One panel that goes for $295 + shipping. We are also proud to offer two finishes on for this panel to ensure long lift and resistance to harsh weather. You can get either a Powdercoated Finish or Anodized Finish for another $50.

For those of you who are familiar with TPR, you know that we are a small company. Really, we're a group of Celica owners making the best parts we can design for the car and selling tham at the best price we can. Because of this, we will be operating this group buy as a pre-buy. In other words, for those that want to purchase a panel, we will accept payment as soon as possible. We will then use the payments to fund the fabrication of the first batch of panels. Unfortunatly this means those getting a panel will have to wait a little while for delivery, but being we're a small company this is how we must do it. Think of it as community support, as any money we might make goes right back into the development of more celica parts.

We were hoping to have an inital batch of 20 made, the sooner we can get buyers for this inital batch, the sooner we can get them made!!If you would like more info on this product please click the link in my sig or feel free to email me. Thank you for your time.

Sound GREAT! Tde only question is, how will the pieces be held on to the body? Cuz I hihgly doubt that the plastic clips will hold it.

How well will it match up with say a Kam Front Bumper, or with a Blitz Front Bumper. . .

im just wondering cause say my front plastics are all ripped off and mangled and stuff. . . i think an underbody picture of a celica with mounting locations would be a good way to help sell it also.

i would be very interested if it meets the right coverage area. smile

First of all, thanks for your replies and intrest. I will try to answer all your questions as best I can:

Oh, I assure you I do not intend to use the crappy stock plastic clips to hold it on. It will be bolted to the car at about 4 points, and held to the front lip (even tho with 4 bolts holding it on the front lip mount wown't be needed).

Yes, it is. However, ours is $80 less, has the option of powdercoating or anodizing and has the oil change access panel. Also, ours is slightly larger than the c-one.

That was an intrest thread. As you might imagine, not every person who put their name on that list is getting a panel. My intention was to have an inital batch of 20 made, but because of the way we must conduct this (as a pre-buy, sight unseen) we don't have as many people willing to put their money in.

Well, the stocks are 7lbs, the c-one is 10lbs and ours is larger than the c-one so it is heavyer. At most you'll be gaining 8lbs (along with superior undercarrage protection) by getting this panel.

Many people have asked about weather or not the cusco front lower brace will fit with this panel. From my observation of pictures of this piece I believe it will fit without any modification.

People have also inquired about intercoolers and turbo pipeing interfering with the panel, I am looking into this and will have an answer soon.

I wish! Basically, we wown't be able to show you all pics untill we have the batch paid for. We need people to pre pay for these if this piece is ever going to be made. Once people have paid for the panels, we can make and troubleshoot a final prototype, then make the final batch.

Smaller? No, I don't think so, part of the benifit of ours is it has better coverage. And yes, it should fit on aftermarket bumpers so long as the aftermarket bumper has the same amount of clearance as the stock one. As far as attaching to aftermarket bumpers, that might not be able to happen, but it's not needed as the other 4 mounting points are much more sturdy.

Still don't have any ecelica members placing orders for these... c'mon guys, have a little faith and I'll provide you with an awesome underpanel.

Well, like I said before, once we collect all the money for these will give the money to the shop and have them made. The 3-6 weeks I quoted you guys was time for the final prototype to be made, trouble shot and then for the main batch to be made. Again, I wish TPR had the fundage to make these then sell them to you guys, but we have to do it the other way around.

Still haven't recieved any massages from any ECelica members who want these (either on my PM or email --> nedrex@hotmail.com )let me know asap if any of you want one of these!

Not sure, it depends on who pulls thru and who doesn't. Fact of the matter is we need as many people as we can get!
If there aren't enough people, this project will go nowhere and I wown't get any massages!!!! cry

just something to add. C-One underpanel not only is designed for undercarriage protection but it also was designed to dissipate heat from the engine and promote underbody aerodynamics. Without pictures i am assuming this is nothing more than a piece of alluminum shaped to cover the bottom of the engine bay with cutouts/doors to change oil. If that is the case, this seems as though it could be easily fabricated for right around $100. Mass producing these would drive costs down even less. But i'm not an expert on material costs and i am not sure how much work would be involved in making it fit.
