Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Finally getting the TRD JDM...

clutch and flywheel installed. the long and arduous road dealing with a bad clutch on a "certified" used 2000 gts is finally ending. the 4 month back-and-forth battle with my old dealer and toyota motor sales eventually was resolved by toyota (the damn dealer still denies any wrong doing ). i'm bringing in my car this evening and my local dealer is installing the parts and checking out a few other problems (noisy valves and a slight friction noise coming from the transmission). i will let you guys know what a new and better clutch feels like. woo hoo!!!

well, got my car back early this morning before work but the 10 minute drive didn't prove any drastic change in clutch feel .

sure, the clutch doesn't slip like it used to and there's some "power" but i don't feel a real difference.

i reviewed the work order/invoice and the only part # i recognize was the trd japan clutch cover (#31210). there's something under #311011 but it adds the description "clutch cover subassembly r&r 3005 wt93" (what the heck is that?). there's nothing else about a clutch disc (not even a stock part #) and especially the flywheel.

hey, i'm relieved they accommodated me with at least 1 of the upgrades but they promised the cover, disc AND flywheel. am i missing something???

oh well, at least the car functions "normally" now. darn, thought i had the clutch modifications done. as they say, beggars can't be choosers .

now, i have the b&m s/s on it's way from supra store (cheapest i could find)

well if you payed for any of it, then you're not a begger.. make them fix it!

if it was covered under warranty, then like you said.. at least it's fixed

didn't have to pay (not even for the rental car) so yes, i'm fortunate it works (crossing my fingers since i don't have much trust with toyo lately)
