Try tightening the nut on the top center of the front struts (under the rubber cap), then tighten the two large bolts and nuts on the bottom of the strut. Next, check your endlinks. Jack the car up and wiggle them. If there's free play in them or they make noise, then they're busted and you'll need new ones. BTW, what springs and sways do you have?

Since he said it's clunking over bumps too, I doubt it's the strut bar. I have the same bar and its only symptom (if not corrected) is a knocking noise when you turn the wheel at low speeds. It's caused by the bar's endplates rubbing against the top of the struts, and can easily be solved by greasing the bottom center of the endplates and the tops of the struts.

Ouch, Goldlines? eek Sounds like the problem is almost definitely the endlinks. Goldines lower the car a ton, and the stock endlinks can't handle lowering that much when Hotchkis sways are used. Lots of Tein coilover owners have the same problem, since Tein coilovers can go around as low as Goldlines. Their stock endlinks either break inside the joint or bend, because the endlinks are too long. This preloads the sways, and when you hit a big bump, extreme stress is put on the endlinks. Even Tein's own adjustable endlinks can't handle the stress of Hotchkis sways, so if the problem really is the endlinks, the only ones that will hold up to his combo are Hotchkis endlinks. They're not shown on Hotchkis' site, but can be ordered by phone.

I don't think Hypermotive would be strong enough, either. A few people with Tein coilovers and Hotchkis sways already tried them, but they still made clunking noises. Someone from NewCelica.org just installed some Hotchkis endlinks on his Tein/Hypermotive setup, and said so far they haven't made any serious noises like stock, Tein, and Hypermotive usually do.

I have a clunking or to me it sounds more like a "thug thug thug" sound coming from the passenger rear of my Celica. I have TRD springs, struts, and shocks installed. The sound started happening after I got the TRD stuff installed, do you think it would be the endlinks or something else?

They have two different kinds of endlinks? If so, which ones did you get?

I think I have the same kind of noise after installing a front strut bar. Took the bar off and the sound is still there. Keep in mind that I have stock suspension. I just think that we did not tighten the bolts enough. Did you use a torque wrench? I did not, that is why I gotta purchase one ASAP and see if that makes a diff. If not, I gotta check elsewhere.
