Ok, In ALL my previous cars I could pull the reverse 180 manuver No Problem. Now, I can't seem to do it in my celica. Is it because My Center of Gravity is so much lower? I am extremely puzzled. So, can anyone else do it in a celi?

its a reverse j turn for one... momentum has to deal with not being able to do one fwd/rwd doesn't have much to do with it

to destroy your car you would have to get to a good speed in revrse start turning the wheel back and forth a lil till the car starts to turn those ways by itself slam the wheel in one directionhit the gas while pulling the ebrake when you get 90degres from orginal spot get it in to first but keep the clutch in start turning the wheel to the other direction let the ebrake go by this time you should be getting close to straight again then drop the clutch

cars that have better grip require more speed to break loose (narf)

Yes, I know how to do it... I just can't in the celica. As I said before, I could do it in ALL of my previous cars and actually all of my friends cars. For some reason, I can't get the celica to swing all the way around...

I think it has to do with the fact that a sports car is made to turn fast handle good and not spin out that may be why. thumbsup

Winter on the otherhand is a whole new story. I had a rental Sunfire (cause my car burnt) over the holidays & I took it to the Zeller's parking lot for a little fun.

Using a dip the parking lot, you can catch about a half foot of air. So I started from one end & got as much speed as possible, turned hard left & pulled the parking brake. The car was a little over 180 into the spin going backwards when I left the ground & continued to rotate & landed. It was an awesome feeling. I have a buddy who's a stunt driver for the movies, I took him out a few times for a ride & he thinks I'm nuts. crazy

The winter is where you really learn to drive. Anything you can do on snow, you can do on pavement, just gotta watch you don't break your little Celica. They aren't exactly tough cars.

why would you want to do that in the celica? that just seems like a really good way to impose damage

It is real fun! I have always been interested in "stunt" driving. In a front wheel drive car, there is really not a lot of stuff we can do...other than hand brake turns... 360 spins.(VERY difficult by the way).

I just love to have fun in my car. If it ends up braking something...then I guess I will pay for it. Oh, and i will video tape myself foing it...I just have NO IDEA how to host it...what format to do it in...blah blah blah. thumbsup

buy yourself a cheapo beater type for doing shit like that in!! rear wheel drive is loads of fun for that, I had my old beemer up to all kinds of tricks, especially in the snow thumbsup unfortunately I sold it to a friend of mine who had never had a RWD car and he went straight out and spun it on a roundabout.. guess you don't have those in the states tho rofl

^^ actually, I'm starting to see a few of those being put up around here. The problem is people don't have a clue what to do when they get to one, how to signal, etc.

BTW I watched a show on the Secret Service. They have to learn how to do J-turns in all types of cars, including the presidential limo eek It was pretty cool to watch.

If you have an automatic, its real badass to go like hell in reverse & then sudenly crank the wheel & hit the throttle. Half way through the spin, crank the wheel back & back into drive & throttle again. I've done it on wet pavement, never dry because the poor Celi would probably bend or break.

Doing a full 360 & catching it just right & having enough forward momentum to keep going in the direction you started is cool. On wet pavement its possible, but very difficult. I landed it once & it took maybe 5 tries & a lot of speed. thumbsup thumbsup

Like he said, buy yourself a beater. I had a Pontiac 6000 FWD & mad did that thing take a beating. I had a bet with a buddy that has a Chevy 4X4, who could make it up this big hill faster. It was washed out, big ruts, rocks & all kinds of crap. I went into the hill flying, bouncing & I made it up so fast that I caught air when I hit the edge of the pavement at the road on top. He got stuck twice on the way up & took at least twice as long. That Pontiac cost me $600 & beat on it for 50,000 miles before I sold it for $200. thumbsup

I have this dvd, and it talks about all these tricks etc...

And a reverse J turn is extremly difficult in a rear wheel drive car and it requires a lot of skill, but absolutly anyone can do it in a fwd car
