It's a good comparison, seeing as the lotus has the same engine as the GTS smile But I'm pretty confident clarkson said lotus had changed the motor managment system to better suit their car, so I guess that'll have something to do with the lotus'es slightly different curve.

nice dyno chart; however, we're still slower because of the weight and RWD difference...

absolutely...i wanted to show what a good tuned ecu can do to a 2ZZ...with lotus being 190hp and ours being 180. the hp gain is negligible in my opinion. it's the smoother delivery of power that i want.

of course performance wise we are comparing a FWD car that weighs 2500lbs to a RWD car that weighs 1975lbs. no comparision..but same engine. i am really keeping a close eye at what new things lotus is doing with their elises...i hear a rots type blower is in the works @ 250hp.

well from what i've heard, the lotus also has a modified computer that manages the engine well enough so that the engine doesn't break when you're constantly in the higher-RPM ranges.

a 2zz already has a high lift cam!!!! the duration when it engages lift is 292 degress with 11.2 mm of lift!!!!!! what the 2zz NEEDS IS A STROKE!!!!! an increase in the 2zz's stroke would drastically improve the bottom end of its power curve, especially the torque, and make it a crazy engine!!!!

The Elise isn't a just a RWD but also a mid-engine car, and if you have driven a MR2 you know theres a big advantage at the launching capabilites of that kind of car.

The 2ZZ doesn't need STROKE unless you are also going to bore out the cylinders as well, giving the car a longer stroke gives it more displacement but the shorter stroke is what allows the 2ZZ to rev so high so quickly, thats why the 2ZZ has a shorter stroke then the 1ZZ but bigger bore to compensate for displacement. But you can't bore to big or else the piston well be too heavy and slow the engines speed. The 2ZZ is a well balanced engine made for high revving natural aspiration.

I want my gts to rev to 9k. What is the safest way. I think the apex-i power fc might be the best route, any suggestions?

So, is it possible to install the elise ecu on a gts? Would it make any differnce? How much would it cost? And why hasn't anyone done it yet?
