Walked in to my local speed shop and asked them to order me a mod for my CAI. So my celi wont hydrolock. Well he chuckles and told me he had 5 people hydrolock there cars this weekend with the heavy rain down here. They where all trying to see what he could do. Some poor guy still had temp tags on his new vw 1.8t. Now im scared to drive in the rain. puke puke

The idea of self applied tape protecting my engine from the possibility of major engine problems seems a bit scary. You guys can probably pull that off but I live in Oregon - it will rain every day for about two months in the early winter; so . . .

short ram for me.

Lanceg33 has a valid point. Maybe driving around with duct tape flapping in the wind would not be a good idea. Sounds like a nice mod though. rofl rofl

hahah thats y i didnt tape mine.. I have AEM CAI and its been rainin a lot here.. When I first put the CAI in I didnt want duct tape there cause it looks bad so I went to walmart in the craft section they have some black foam sheets with adhesive on the back..perfect size to cover all of the slots and you cant even tell its there..lasts about 2 weeks and doesnt flap around or anything...

While we're on the subject of duct tape, goodtimes..
I had my run in with it, I have to say it worked quite well for me. When my body kit was done, and it was shitty. angry
the black flaps that were originally attached to my stock front was not attached to my new blitz front. and when I went on the highway, the wind pushes it down and I find myself with a efficient yet embarrassing dirt plow, thus I duct taped the valence (I think that's what its called) to my blitz bumper, which lasted only 3 days. But at least it took care of my thing not scraping the road. Now, I've upgraded to zip ties. They're awesome! goodjob

Can the shield they sell help with hydrolocking, or is it just for the heat?
