00-01: Basically the same, except GT gets bigger front brakes in 01

02: Action Package introduced. Lower rev limiter (7800) and wider shift gate on GTS

03: Restyled bumpers and tails, darker gray interior, JBL stereo. GTS gets drive by wire throttle, restored rev limiter, optional HIDs

04: New Action Package. HIDs optional on all Celicas.

05: CD changer standard on GTS

00-01 and 03-05 are at 8400 RPM, 02 is 7800. Switching motors won't do anything. The limiter is in the ECU. If you've got an 02, you can swap in an 00-01 ECU (you'll also need to switch to the matching knock sensor).

On the 01, the "Action Package" was known as the TRD body kit. later known as the "Action Package" upgrade. UPGRADE = more money.

(correct me if im wrong) thumbsup

EDIT: TRD Mechanical body kit.

The intake manifold is different on the Matrix. Its throttle body inlet is angled upwards, so you'll need a Celica's intake manifold to use an intake with it.

00-01: 7th gen. celica with orange gauges and green ac and stereo backlight.
02: adjusted shift gates, low rev limiter. and maybe DRL was added this year, sunroof change.
03: bring back the old ecu, drive by wire, black interior, jbl speakers and stereo (different stereo, newly designed), orange interior. the roof color change, HID optional, power antenna...

Pre 04-05 was known as the TRD Action Package

04-05 action package is known as the Tsunami kit.

tsunami is toyota's version not toyota-racing-development's verion.

hence, people should not refer it as the new TRD kit, just the new AP kit (ap = action package)
