A few months ago I purchased a 2004 Celica GTS with the redesigned action package (the tsunami kit with the fake exhaust tip). Right after I purchased it, I looked into getting the TRD exhaust for it but I was told by TRD that it would not work. They told me to keep trying back because they planned on creating a new version of the exhaust for it. Yesterday I called and they told me that they would not be coming out with any new TRD parts for the Celica since it was being discontinued after 2005. They also told me that the only problem with the exhaust was that if I were to remove the fake exhaust tip then the gap would be 3" off so if I were to cut the bumper skirt then it would work. Originally they told me the problem was that it wasn't long enough and would melt the plastic because it would not stick out far enough.
I noticed that this board seems to have a lot more info about this version of the 2004 Celica over most other boards and I was hoping that somebody could help me. Has anybody with this kit tried upgrading the exhaust?

use a heat-gun to melt off whatever is holding the fake tip onto the bumper and get urself either TRD or TPR.

The problem is not in getting the fake exhaust tip off. It is actually just screwed on. The problem is that TRD claims that the TRD exhaust will not fit. My hope was that somebody else out there with this body kit has upgraded their exhaust. It is a lot of money to spend just to find out that it doesn't fit.

You could get the trd exhaust and take it to your local exhaust shop and have them take the pipe extending out the back and mod it to fit right in the skirt. As long as you go to a experienced shop the should be no prob and it shouldn't be to pricey.

Sidestep the exhaust problem. Swap your bumper for someone with an aftermarket one (preferably TRD) but whatev and then your problem is solved.
