I just called my dealer to ask for a price quote for the serpentine belt replacement.
They quoted me at $135.64 including labor. Is that a good price? Should I call around to see if other shops can do it for cheaper, or just go with the dealership?

Do it yourself.

Takes like ten minutes.

Don't see how it could cost that much since all they have to do is route it and pull the tensioner back.

The trick is to put a wrench on the control arm of the belt tensioner, pull towards the front of the car & the tensioner will give up enough slack to slip the belt off. thumbsup

mine clicks, so i'm in the process of trying to get mine fixed. what will happen if you drive with it if the tensioner is bad? mine is a 2000 so they said they wont cover anything and i have to pay for the belt, the tensionor and the labor.. i know the belt isnt hard to do, but what about the tensioner?

I drove around with a bad tensioner for about 2 weeks and nothing bad happened, it was just annoying because of the nasty sound it would make.
