Has anyone bought any of these service cds on ebay? An example listing is here
Im considering it but I'd rather not waste 10 bucks if its all data I can download off the net.

If you're nice. I'm sure someone will hook you up. Ask around in the forums rather nonchalant. I'm sure many people have that on their computers. if you need it as of now, just buy it.

I was gonna scan mine, but I was told that it was illegal to post it here, so I don't think I will. Don't wanna sell my Cel and end up in a cell. wink

at only $4.99, what do you have to lose in buying them?

I would be sceptical about posting anything or sharing anything not "belonging" to you.

Exactly!!!! Or even $10.00. That's a world of info for any serious Celica owner.

Well, I just spent the $10 ($5 for CD, +$5 shipping) to see if it's worth it.

Mine arrived today. It's just two PDF files (plus a copy of Adobe Reader, in case you didn't already have it) burned onto a CD.

One PDF (94.5MB) is a scan of Toyota publication RM744U1; according to the foreword, "This manual (Volume 1) contains maintenance, preparation, specifications and diagnostics procedures for the 2000 CELICA."

The second PDF (133MB) is a scan of Toyota publication RM744U2, which states, "This manual (Volume 2) contains repair procedures for the engine, chassis and body, and electrical service procedures for the 2000 CELICA."

The PDF files don't have bookmarks, so you can't easily go straight to a particular chapter. The page numbers in the index do not correspond to the pages of the PDF file. The files are searchable though, so you ought to be able to find what you're after without having to browse one page at a time.

It's not perfect, but it is the complete contents of the two service manuals for only $10. Not exactly legal to reproduce though...

What I would like is the database with complete exploded views of every part in the car, like what the dealer has at the parts counter.
