if you go to the AEM website they give you a really good demonstration on the gen 2...i think it's definately worth it to go for the gen 2...its more advanced technology.
dontmesswithkram on this board has gen 2...idk what the differences were but if you search the boards for like AEM gen 2 or something his thread may come up...
