if it isn't damaged...all you need is a K&N filter recharger kit to clean out the filter and then it will be brand new again...no need for new one...

VSGTS14,

I also heard that the K&N filter cleaner kit works miracles. Do you any advise on who to use or clean the filter? This would be the first time I clean a CAI filter. The filter is NOT damaged it's just a little dirty. Actually, I shouldn't say dirty, I should say dusty. Any advice would be really helpful and appreciated. thumbsup

dusty? all you need to do is clean with the K&N recharger kit...
the kit provides instructions on how to clean it so there is no need to ask me how to do it...it's VERY simple and works great! Since I had a performance air filter on my 300ex, i cleaned it before with the kit that came with it and it was great! grin thumbsup

ummm oillock, no way, you could not get enough oil to stay on the filter to even come close to that, but if you do get too much, it will just make a mess of the engine bay, and cause the exhaust to smoke for a while until the gross excess oil has went through the cylinders, think of it this way, when you have bad valve guides, or leaky rings, you get smoke out of the exhaust, well, this is the same idea

dude I think he was kidding...lol!
but yes don't over do the oil...all you do is put one smooth sweeze on each ripple on the filter.
