Ok so i was driving and went to put it into 4th and accidently put it into 2nd. Now that my motor is gone, i am planning on rebuilding it. anyone have suggestions on what i should do, all i know is this place called performance direct is going to bore it out, balance and blueprint it. Should I see if they can get sleeves to make it a 2.0 or let them just fix it to a , what they said to be like a 1.85? apex-i chip, what exhaust is good? ect...

How much are they gonna charge for the bore, balance and blueprint? I'm assuming the price includes new pistons , rods and rings and such.

(Its a 2000 celica gts) They had told me $5150. Toyota Recommended a new engine(used) with 30k mi. for $6k. but yes, new pistons, valves, valve springs and such.

I dont want to turbo it though, i want to have it fast w/o turbo, so high compression is my route. I was looking for better cams but no one seems to make them, but the guy at PD either the GT or the GTS had computerized adjustable cams? i dont know, but thats what he told me.

These are the people giving me the prices from performance direct in Ashland, Va. They said that they are going to overprice it so that i wont have to worry about them giving me a price and then upping it later. They said it could be anywhere between 3500 and 5150 so i dont know, it all depends on how much damage i did when i let go. I can tell you, it just knocks hard like crazy and i have to keep pushing the gas to start it and keep it running. Kinda like im floating the gas so it wont shut off. I know now, the 6-speed wont go 70 in 2nd...

if you go higher compression your going to be dealing with even more heat... your ECU will adjust itself and retard the timming to compensate so that you don't blow your engine from detonation.. If you have to rebuild the internals you might as well go turbo... In the long run you will probably have better reliability with the turbo because you sleeved and lower the compression of the engine... God, isnt stock compression 11:1 anyways how much higher would you want to go smile

for one if it starts its not what you think i did the same thing you didnt blow ur motor you bet the valves there farly easy to bend if it starts and runs really really rough you bet them and proly fried the clutch

EX accords were the only accords to come with a v-tech for the 94-97 accords... SOHC, but vtech none the less.

If you want to do a turbo properly and have a shop do it, you are probably looking at around 10k for the whole setup... but make sure its not just some bent valves like injen said.. cause I did the same thing 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th, and I only bent up two sets of valves out of the four and it cost me around 900 bucks. But you still have to worry about the pistons and cylinders after bending your valves too, cause sometimes pieces of metal get chipped from the valves and cylinder walls and that could be even messier.. that could be why its going to cost so much to rebuild the motor.

Ya the guy at toyota said that when he had it in gear, and tried to start it, the car would roll like it wanted to go foward.if the clutch is gone, and more than likely it is, what kind of clutch is a good one to have. My friend said ACT makes good ones, thats what he has in his subaru. His car also runs 12's so, i might take his advice...

what should i do? Is the best route to take to turbo my motor or build it N/A? which can i do more with. And if i turbo it, I know that I will put the lower compression pistons in it, but how will that effect my LIFT? how does the turbo react in lift. I dont want to blow the motor again if i turbo it rice
