Shouldn't hurt, it's just illegal.
Go for it, but be careful.

anything from the cat back is just sound man, and youll be dealing with a lot of that Actually, the exact opposite is true. The current group of headers gain almost no power, and the piping from the header to the cat is 2.5", the biggest you want to go on NA. When it comes to exhausts, however, you can gain over 15hp with a catback (Kazuma), and at least 10hp with an axle back (TPR). Not too shabby. TPR will come along with the header power soon. ? are you saying that if I leave the cat on I wont loose backpressure? Nope, the cat is pretty free flowing already and will hardly affect backpressure. If you go to a 2.5" catback, the reduction in backpressure will hurt low end power, but will make for a better flowing top end. The stock midpipe is pretty free flowing already (resonator is straight-through and perforated), so by adding just an axle back, you can gain low end AND top end, and control exhaust noise at the same time.

You can get the Kazuma here for $340: http://www.trdsource.com/partsintrslts.php?model_detail_id=41&part_type_id=100&parts_id=172You'd actually lose power by running with no exhaust, since the piping helps the exhaust gas pulses flow and pull each other along (scavenging). Without that, the engine would need to do more work to push the gasses out, resulting in less power than a straight pipe.

Yup, as long as it was mandrel bent and used 2.5" piping. It'll be louder though, unless you use a resonator at least as big as Kazuma's.

Yup, some shops have a mandrel bending machine. It can bend piping while maintaing the same inside diameter through the entire bend. However, most shops have crush benders, which just collapse the pipe in order for it to bend. This causes a ton of restriction, and is good for only OEM replacements on cars that the owners don't really care about performance. Mandrel bending is more expensive, but it's the only way to get decent power out of any exhaust system. All aftermarket exhausts are mandrel bent, including Kazuma, TRD, TPR, Tanabe, Apexi, etc.

Most likely. There's nothing really special or power-enhancing about Kazuma that couldn't be reproduced by a decent muffler shop.

I've got a straigt pipe on my car. It's pretty loud and sometimes I get tired of it, but then I just turn the music up. Its also nice to have when people try to out rev you... and when you hit lift.
