Red out finish

A while ago i redded out my tails using the same procedure that was posted in the installs guide. I got the same paint and everything, but my tails seem to have more of a matte finish than glossy. It's not a big deal but i was wondering if anyone else that did this got a very glossy finish or a more matte finish. here's a pic of mine compared to the intall guide one...

I see a little difference, but not much.. perhaps the photo doesn't do it justice.

I've seen that happen on several Celica's with the tails painted instead of using Vinyl. The paint fades and discolored after awhile. Also, tyhe finish becomes flat.

Use lighter coats. I also cleared mine after painting them with Rustolleum(?). My finish has not faded here in hot & humid GA. I think pics are in my album, if not I'll add them.
