coolent reservoir
I was looking at my coolent level today and i noticed that it was low! could this cause the check engine light to go on?? and i noticed that there was a black tube attached to the top of it that doesnt connect anywhere, is this normal?

^^ yes, that's normal

and definately refill your coolant...i'm not sure if it will throw a CEL (check engine light) but it certainly should. if you drive for long without it, your car will overheat and the celica will automatically shut down to prevent any damage

You won't get a CEL from low coolant, even if there's no coolant in the reservoir at all. The way you'll know something is wrong is when your engine starts overheating from lack of coolant (or the development of a bubble by the water pump that stops it from pushing the coolant along).

Just add water, it won't change the mixture enough to matter. If you have to add a lot you will need to buy long-life coolant from Toyota. CEL's aren't triggered by low coolant, its a different problem. That tube is for overflow.
