New Car in the Life
Alright, my celi is about to go through a major overhaul, im driving it down to miami this weekend where my boy lives, he's the one whos doing all my work for cheap, basically all i gots to do is pay for the parts! YEAH!!! Anywayz, with all that im doing, and knowing that he wont be able to give it all his attention, its gonna take him a little while!! But no biggie, becuase i am gonna get a new car for now, well, actaully its permanent, becuase i cant drive my mustang, becuase thats geting an overhaul as well, but that is being done my myself and my father in law, and its on cynderblocks, so i opted to get a third car, or 4th, if you include my wifes truck. Anywayz, i decided on what i wanted to get a couple of weeks ago, and have been looking ever since and have finally found it. So when i go to miami to drop my car off this weekend, im gonna go ahead and pick up my new used car, and ideas what its gonna be...YEAH BABY, 1998 Toyota Supra TT!!!!

I had a friend of mine tell me that his cousin knows someother dude that is selling is car, so i got in touch with him and took care of the finances. All in all, he's giving it to me for 50,000, it only has 50,000 miles on it, but its a lot of money becuase of what he has done to it, he emailed me the specs, and the list of whats done, but im on the boat right now for duty, so i cant leave, but from what i can remember from the top of my head, the twin Turbos were switched out for some stage 2 Turbos, bigger Turbo yet still twins. ill post the list when i get home tomorrow morning, but from what he said, im looking at about 650rwhp!! Awesome!! Ill even post pics tomorrow morning too, he sent me pics!!

Nah, the celica is my baby, im doing any body work to the supra, im gonna use the supra for my "need for speed" and then the celica for the "show" in me...I am however going o add more to what he has done, which isnt alot, but, im going to have fun with it. Though, its gonna take me some time to start modding the supra, becuase right now, all my time is being devoted to my 65 mustang, im putting in a lot of work, so, all my time is gone!!

More info that i can remember, its black, still good shine, hasnt been ruined by being in the sun alot, 5 speed, boost controller, Turbo timer, new HKS blow-off valve, a couple more, he wanted to do more, but he ran out of money and time.

i have been looking online, and once i do get more into it, have i get done with the mustang, i want to get that kit that i saw on mvpmotorsports.com, its a Powerhouse Racing Stage 5 Turbo Kit - Dual Ball Bearing, comes with a lot more stuff, but they have it rated at producing well over 900rwhp!!! Damn, cant wait!!

I dont know that much about the supra yet, still trying to learn more about it now, since im gonna have one, but, how hard would it be to switch it to a 6-speed, or would a 5 speed be better!!

I don't remember if the Supras eventually had 6-speed or what. At 900hp you might be straining the gears some!

By the way, what's the 'Stang got? 289?

Yeah, i saw when i was searching for the supras, that some supras, like the special edition or someshit had 6speeds, and dont worry about the gears, thats all in the works of my ideas to mod...gotta make everything stronger to support 900+..

And yeah, the stang WAS 289, but when my grandfather had it, he had the interior done, OEM new, right now it looks like it was right off the lot from the inside, the outside though, eehhhh, lets jsut say he hadnt gotten there yet, but im taking care of that as well...but the engine, right now i have the engine out of the car, why?? Well, im very seriuosly thinking about buying a crate cobra jet 428!!!!!! Not sure yet, but i did do some mods to the 289, bigger bore and stroke!!!! but, i dont seem satisfied, so i might s/c the used to be 289, or go with a brand new 428

well, like i said, i just did start getting into the supras, and im just learning, i havent been paying attention to that much, just mainly the price involved, so i jumped on this one when i saw that it was a good price, i still have to go see it before i agree to it, but if its six speed then thats fine, i jsut thought that he said it was 5 speed, dont know why, but like i said, tomorrow morn, ill post all the info and pics that he gave me.

I hate to be the optimist, but I'll believe it when I see it. Too many people on forums bs'ing about what cars they're getting. But, I wish you the best of luck either way.

If you do get it, turn that thing into a beast.

I dont think its a looney price, ive been seeing prices on autotrader and other places for supras and they range from anywhere from 30000 to 60000, it all depends on mods done, year, condition, miles, etc, so for what the price is, its acutally a good deal!!

I think that the only Supras manual transmission with a 5-speed is the 94 or 96 model because Toyota didn't get the 6-speed transmission approved so they threw in the 5-speed, so are you sure he's selling you a 98. And try to see if your friend knows if the car has any problems, cause i got a friend who bought a 500hp+ supra and it had so much problems we basically had to take out the guys original setup which just wasn't working together, and put in a new setup. The Supra is mechanically strong but can have a lot of electrical problems.
