my check engine light came on after i checked my airfilter today... NO the engine was not running when i checked it. I'm reseting the computer right now to see if it goes out. Is there anything you can think of that would cause this... because i don't wanna have to drive to the closest dealer and find out if was something stupid

All I think it could be is you didn't put the filter back in correctly when you checked it, if the light doesn't stay off after you reset, check to make sure you put it in correctly, I know it sounds stupid, but we all have our moments.

Yes everyone has their moments. Thankfully if i'm doing something "hard" that needs my full concentration i usually know when to step away and come back.

But i will check that because sometimes its the simple things that are easiest to screw up
