Is a frontmount intercooler needed? First of all Im going to be running a 14b and my target HP is 200 out of my 1ZZ. so far Ive decided on 450cc injectors from a GSX, Log manifold, 14b Turbo out of a eclipse, and im on the fence when it comes to buying a intercooler out of a 300ZX or WRX, or putting out the dough for a new front mount.

Now before you guys start tearing into me for building a frankenstein Turbo kit thats gonna limit me to 300 or so hp, hear me out. Im not going to spend thousands of dollars building up my engine so a 14b with 450cc injectors is all I need. I cant justify myself buying a FMIC that supports something like 35lbs of boost when Ill be pushing 7lbs max because of high compression.

So does anyone have any suggestions about what kind of intercooler I should get? Any reasons I should get a FMIC (besides that it looks cool)

most base kits hit 200 hp easily on the GT. If you bought a kit it would sav eyou a lot of hassle. thumbsup

Make sure that peicing together a kit won't be as expensive as a Brand new kit..

then I wish I had the time and $$ to fit a Turbo in an elise. I suppose one could tear apart the aluminum divider between the engine and the trunk.

I get my kicks on EC.
