Hey whats up yall...im gonna be getting an Intake soon. Im getting an Injen Short Ram for sure. The question is, is there anything i have to adjust engine wise or ECU wise after i have the shop install it? I already have a Tanabe exhaust so it will make up with the extra air going out. Should i get a heatshield? Thanks for any suggestions.. -Patrick

you do not have to make any adjustments to your engine at all...just slap it on and your good to go. BTW its not hard to install the Intake...save some money n do it yourself!

i recommend you install it urself, but if you have a shop do it, ask them if you can watch..after they're done i betcha ya gonna say, "i could do that shit myself"...but watch them so later on if you need to convert back you know how to and you don't have to make trip to the shop and waste time waiting for them to do it..

that's fine that you have your heart set on it, but I just don't like how the air makes a 180 degree turn. not the best air velocity in my opinion. I mean you want the smoothest possible flow into the engine. Theoretically a medium sized straight pipe would be best with air being forced in from a hood scoop. But our engines are mounted transversely so the best we can get in a tight compartment is one smooth bend to 90 degrees and a straight pipe going down to the undertray. That translates to an Injen that is cut before it bends into the fenderwell (it still draws cold air with a few mods too). And that's what I have done. It works well with the PFC btw.
If you don't have a PFC to compensate for slight boggin' as some say and can wait for a TPR, then maybe get that if you believe in fins like they do.
If you are nutso, the best is actually to cut your hood and instead of having the straight section go to the undertray have it go to the hole with a hood scoop and have it all pressure sealed for a ram-air effect. oh yeah and put fins in like TPR would say.
I get my kicks on EC.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to reset the ECU after they install it. Unplug your battery for 15 minutes.

When I first got my Celi I didn't know crap about cars and this was the first install I ever did and never had any problems. Just followed the guide on this site. Also, for a Short Ram Air Intake the heat shield id more for looks (see pic below )

Install it yourself, save the money. You don't need to be a pro to do this.

if you follow the directions that came with the Intake, it's going to take you an hour to figure it out...
