What does bogging mean?

I know it has something to do with the Air Intake. What does it mean when it boggs?

It is when you initially step on the gas and the car does not get up and go. Like a hesitation before the car goes.

has nothing to do with the Intake. usually its when you are about to launch the car and instead of taking off like a bat out of hell you almost stall or do stall the car.

No, bogging is like a hiccup. Best description I can do.
[n]  (usually plural) the state of having reflex spasms of the diaphragm accompanied by a rapid closure of the glottis producing an audible sound; sometimes a symptom of indigestion
[v]  breathe spasmodically, and make a sound.

Hestitation is what most here are writing about.

Bogging is usually providing the car with more air & fuel than it can burn. This is often caused by not allowing the motor to build enough RPMS to burn the provided air/fuel charge.

bogging is not only while launching. when you start ur car and it idles real low thats kinda bogging too. whenever ur cars rev is lower than its suppose to be, either while driving or idling, is bogging. reasons why this happens is bad fuel pump, Air Filter, MAF sensor, they way you work the gas and clutch. could be a lot of reasons.
