I was drinving down a 2 lane street going about 70.Just when I get on top of the dip on the road there is a car in my lane of traffic. So I swerve and go in the ditch and I hit a telephone poll. The lady that was in my lane got a ticket for going in the opposite lane of traffic. She said she went in my lane to avoid a squirel. Her insurance took responsablity.I wound up hitting my head on the steering wheel and splitting my lip in two places and had to get stiches and my teeth were loose but I had no seatbelt.Airbags did not go off and I my bodyshop called today and the total bodyshop cost is 8,347 and I am very susprised it was not totaled because my car has 76,000miles and its a 2000 but the engine only had 37,000 because couple months ago I hydrolocked my engine and had to put a used engine in.They said there is no underbody damage.I will post some pics soon as I get them.

Glad to hear you are alright. Probably wouldn't have had a scratch with a seatbelt.

hmm so if you werent wearing a seatbelt do you not get insurance compensation for your injuries? if you can get money for your injuries it seems like it would be good amount.

Welcome to the club.

Honestly, I think there should be a stickied thread for car wrecks exclusively.

Yah, wazzup with you people & not wearing your seatbelts? Where I come from you don't event think of driving without it. I have a lead foot & the world is full of idiots; so I always wear mine.

Should have hit her instead of the post. She mighta learned something from it then.
