another lift bolt question

i know people have questions about the lift bolts all the time, and this question in really more directed to those have had their's break. when they break, can you hear it rattle at all under the valve cover? it seems like something near the far left spark plug (if your facing the car) or the plug itself is making like a clicking noise. i've changed my bolts before about 2k ago but i havent had the time these last few days to start taking stuff apart. hopefully someone here has some insight for me. thanks.
