Does anyone else have Axxis Ultimate High Performance Ceramic brake pads? Mine are squealing and it's driving me f'n nuts. Overall, they are kick-ass pads with awesome stopping power. However, anytime I'm costing to a stop with light pressure applied, they squeal something horrible. They're brand new (less than 5k miles) and they didn't do this at first. I sprayed the brake dust off at the car wash using just plain soap and water and then boom, they started squealing. I've tried cleaning them real good but they keep on squealing. Is this normal for this pad? If so I'll have to live with it or swap out I guess. Any feedback appreciated.

high proformance breaks are just known to do this, yes you will have less brake dust but they are simly harder pads and tend to make noise, i stick with the softer traditional ones...

...no matter how many times they say "silent" or whatever they will still do it.

Thanks for the feedback! I've already cleaned them and they're basically brand new so I'll try Shoulin's suggestion. Any recommendations on a good pad that doesn't squeal?

did you check the backside of your rotors when you changed your pads. when i changed mine i noticed that although the side that shows were alright the backsides had depth changes. you wouldnt have notice before because the pads would have worn to the same of the rotors, but when you change the pads the pads are flat. this could cause squealing, also if your silver squeal plates were not put back on right. id check both of those.

I'm "downgrading" to Axxis Deluxe pads to see if that helps. The stopping power is AWESOME but the squealing is just too much for me. I'll let ya know if it solves the problem.

The Axxis Deluxe pads seemed to have solved the problem. Not as much stopping power but no squeal! Shoulin nailed it! thumbsup

should of left the ultimates in, once the breaks wear in it goes away.

I have a friend who put them on and they were like that for some time, gradually faded as the breaks wore in.

Dude just go out to an open area and speed up to about 40 and just hammer down on the brake.

Mine only squeal when they're cold in the morning. Stops after the first time I brake on a main road.

I just put these very pads on yesterday along with some new slotted rotors. They didn't squeek on me once today in 200 miles of driving.
