Aright Ive had my GT for almost a yr now. And have only managed to chirp gears twice. Both times were unattinally. Ive tried dozens of times and faild all of them. I shifted at red line and all that. The times i did chirp i belive i was below redline. And yea i know its bad for your tires and all i just wanna know how to do it?

You just have to let off the clutch fast and punch it at the same time, what gear are you trying to Chirp??

I think it's a bit hard on your clutch also.

You could always double clutch it too, but don't do that often you'll burn her up

how about do it like i do. Dont redline the car unless you want to. All you have to do is shift and floor and release the cluth as fast as possible without letting off the gas.It will chirp guaranteed

Use sucky tires and pop the clutch as much as you can.

Bad for tires and bad for clutch.

Peak power on the GT is at 6700RPM-ish anyway, so shifting right at redline isn't the best idea if you want to lay down the most power.

Why not just get a PA system, and make the chirp noise yourself. Fool all your friends! And your clutch will love you for it!!

Why the hell do you want to chirp your tyres? The GTs not really powerful enough to be chirping the tyres.

Reminds of being in the back of an M5 my friends dad was borrowing. There were four of us in the car he says watch this. 100mph he drops it into third and gets a shit load of wheelspin.

As for your Celica its not really gonna happen without loading the revs onto the clutch. This would only normally occur if you were a very shit driver, so don't do it when anybodys in the car or you'll look like a right tit.

If you want to be chirping your tyres, take your car to a piece of road that nobody uses in the dark and having a little chirping session there. When its all out of your system, hopefully you won't want to do it anymore

I'm not saying you can't do it. When you change gear, just before the clutch engages, pin the throttle again. As the clutch engages you'll get slight wheelspin if you've timed it correctly. Just keep practising!!!!

I know with a TS/GTS you can only just about chirp the tyres in the dry when you land in lift from first to second. Polykarb said he did it changing into 4th gear. At 115-120mph this is BS!!!!!!!!

My car will only do it because of my crappy tires.

I could not, and I mean could not, chirp the Azenis on my friends Civic, which has even less torque than my Celica.

I don't understand why chirping is so cool, it means you've lost traction and are going slower. spineyes
