Maybe the gasket on the oil drain plug? I don't know of any other gasket that would relate to an oil change. I haven't changed mine yet, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Yeah, you are "supposed" to change that gasket, along with the oil plug itself I believe. But anyways, either one of those can be picked up at Autozone for under a dollar if you want, although, I have never changed mine as of yet. I would just change it if either are damaged, or if the gasket has a crack in it.

It could also be the gasket that is on the bottom of the oil filter. This gasket is there so that the metal filter can seal to your metal engine with out leaking. This gasket comes on all new oil filters. The only trick is that you MUST make sure that you take the old one off. It will normally come off with the filter but sometimes it doesn't. That is my take but it could be the one on the drain plug too.

I'm pretty sure it's the oil drain plug gasket. I only change it when the metal starts to show. Not really necessary to change though.

I've done dozens of oil changes on three cars, have never changed the drain plug gasket and never had a leak. 'nuf said.
