yesterday i was driving in the city after about 35 interstate miles and stopped at a grocery store and the car sat off for about 10 minutes when i started it up i noticed the check engine light was on! i dont know what it could have been the highest rpm i hit that day was 5000. i know this topic has been discussed but anyone have any ideas or tips what it could be before i go to the dealership (its under warranty)

oh yeah i reset the ecu and the lights off but im worried it might come back on

if it doesnt come back on--you're fine.

if it does come back on (you will have to drive prob a couple miles) then take it to autozone and let them do a free diagnostics check (computer plug-in...you know that). then you can come back on here and check the codes with what the diagnastics test said thumbsup

How many miles do you have on the car. Has the Intake ever been cleaned? If not do you remember the code the guys pulled. Try cleaning you MAF sensor on the Intake that is usually one of the practical causes of check engine light and Intake.

ya definetly get the codes read somewhere before you take it to the dealer, And make sure its a good dealership, because bad toyota monkeys will blame it on your airbox and still charge you even if your under warranty because the airbox is not included, I had a big fight with them about it, and the CEL was a po440 caused by a leak in my hose from the charcoal canister to the fuel tank.

Oh ya put your airbox back in if you have to go to the dealer but make sure its hooked up correctly. But if your running lean which i think is a 171 code. clean your maf, reset the ecu and hope for the best.
