I was looking into getting some electrical autometer gauges, most likely water temp and oil pressure gauges, and I was wondering if I should even bother with it.

I mean, where in the hell would I mount the sensors for them? Not even sure how I would set up the oil pressure one. Here are some basic instructions...

http://hp.autometer.com/instructions/004327_instruction.pdf

Now does that sensor already exist, and do I just splice into it, or do I have to install it, and how would I go about doing that?

Also, as for the water temperature gauge, would I also have to mount the sender myself?

I've been asking the same question about the water temp gauge cause I don't know how to go about installing it. I was just going to cut a hose and put a T brass fitting, but not sure if thats the way to go.

Thank you for the link.

Looks like I will go with the oil pressure gauge. Anyone know how much it will fluctuate once you hit lift? I imagine it won't be much, but it will be noticable.

As for the water temperature gauge, is there already a sensor that I can tap into, like the oil pressure gauge, or do I have to drill and mount into the coolant resovior (sp) near the radiator?

(Excuse me if the answer to the above question was already posted, I'm in a hurry now, but I will look later if so.)

Also, is there any good way to go about drilling into the oil pan, is I were to do the oil temperature gauge?

I'd assume that you would have to drain the oil from the car, but how would I go about getting 100% of the metal filings out of the pan without contaminating the whole engine/oil?
