I've done it before 4 yrs back and replaced couple pieces with suede it came pretty basic for me since I know how to using sewing machine. From easy - hard I'd rate it somewhere in the middle. Their is a zipper in the back held on by support bars and copper clips. Once all the copper clips are off the support bars you'll have access removing the fabric. It comes off just like a seat covers except for the fact that it is molded prefectly to fit the foam padding inside.
When you removed the fabric you will see how it is all sewn together from behind. Their are seams lines that you can follow to break off all the threads. Once everything is taken apart all the fabric pieces will act as your pattern. Depending on how well you sew and what type of designs you want to incorporate within the fabric that will be the first hard part.
Second putting all the pieces back is like putting lego's together everything should match and fit like stock. The pic you showed above I had mine Red suede in the middle portion and black in the silver areas. That was when the car was silver. I also wrapped the doors with suede. Badside when you sweat you leave buttprints that cannot be removed. So suede is comfy but stains easily.
Anyway you can do it takes a lot of time and patience and real strong needles with good sewing pratice. Great experience so when I did my final leather theme. I learned how to topstich, foam pad, incorporate more support bars, add more lines within the seat, reversing the zipper to hide zipper teeth, allow access to the seat covers if I ever want to removed them.
Finally come up with a pattern how you want it with the removed fabric layed out. Either you want to set it off or keep it simple. If you don't think you can pull it off take it to a pro it's a lot of work.

You dont see what? On 2002's and below the seat would be completely black (except for a little trace of the color of your car where it is silver on the above picture). I wanted to make the silver stand out like in the above picture.

they dont match the color of ur car...my 03 is blue and the seats are darker grey...02 has color matching seats ie. if the car was blue they had blue seats and so forth...well aactually just red and blue...03 and 04 just have the dark grey or lighter grey thats it...so if you want them try and find somebody with and older car that will swap, make ur own, or buy whole new seats to match. goodluck

just get it re-upholstered. i plan on doing that. (the picture that was posted at the top is my example subject): where the seat is grey, I'll have it redone in black. where the seat is black, I'll have it redone it a blue color to match my interior plastics. i love the stock seats, they are very nice and comfortable
