Ok, everyone knows the Honda s2000 antenna fits on the Celica, but...

Will an s2000 antenna fit on any car or only certain cars (for example, only on japanese cars)?

i think it should. i got a euro antenna before and it had three bolts to attach to three different types of cars: domestic, euro, and asian.

i matched up the asian bolt with the one on the s2k, and it, matched spineyes thumbsup

Does not fit on just any car Celica threads are the same for s2k that's why it fits. I have another Japanese car that I had fitted the antenna on which did not go on threads did not match and modification was needed.

if you remove your antenna (ex. any car), and you see that the screw part is on the bottom of the stock antenna, then yes you can use S2000 antenna. I am not saying this for ALL CARS.thumbsup

Cut stock with dremmel use metal cutting disc. Stock antenna threads will allow you to attach the new s2k antenna.

Sleeve over the insulated s2k rubber spring over your cut stock antenna making sure that the s2k metal spring contacts the metal on the original antenna you cut. This will get you the great reception that the s2k provides and more stability to flex.

Then put back the rubber sleeve making sure to glue it. I used a strong clear contact epoxy that dries as hard as cement.

^^ very innovative, goldcelica ... VERY good idea since the s2k threads are rather short. that also eliminates the small gap the s2k antenna leaves

two thumbs up thumbsup thumbsup

and to repeat what has already been said--the s2k antenna fits only a certain tread pattern of which only certain cars have. it will NOT fit every car, but it will fit quite a few (such as the volkswagen jetta and bug, nissan 350z, scion xa...among others) thumbsup

GOLDCELICA, that is awesome, thanks for posting that! thumbsup

One question, though: does the metal need to make contact only at the base, or does the entire "sleeve" need to contact the metal from the stock antenna, in order to get reception?

on my 2000 celica gt it came w/ a billet antenna so I bought a s2000 antenna to my surprise however when I tried to install it the screw from the billet antenna was still in the housing making it impossible to put on the s2000 one on. I was just wondering if I should take the thread off the housing or the antenna to get it on?
