who are you buying from? What color or material type are you thinking of using?

Dash kits do not require the removal of stock dashboard pieces.

why paint it? Why not just get the dash kit...they are simple to install and look great!

vinyl wrap looks best, and it doesn't fuck up your dash like paint or kits. If you don't like it you can take it off.

I do my own and I get the vinyl from a local sign shop. Its very cheap, only a few dollars per square foot depending on color and finish. If you feel like you want to try this I can write a how to for you.

Its also very easy to do, but takes time.

I did mine and I had no experience with vinyl at all, and it came out great.

aaaaawwwwww, don't be afraid vinyl is the way to go! Try this on for size, it will cost less than DIY paint.

auto parts stores don't have it, and if they did they would charge you out the ass. Go to a sign shop, you know a place that make banners, signs, auto graphics (yellow pages). Just ask them how much they will charge you per sq foot for vinyl. They should give you a good price because you not having anything made, just getting a sheet of the stuff.

once you have there price figure out how much you need, lets say 36"x36" to start. Multiply 36 x 36 you get 1296, divide 1296 by 144 (the magic number), you get 9. 9 times there price per square foot will give you your total.

Thought you might ask that. Take them out to start, will make your life easier. Here comes the how to! First you need two key tools, a really good hair drier (one that gets real hot) and soap and water solution in a spray bottle, a cleaned out windex bottle will do. Mix about 2 tablespoons with a whole bottle of water. You will also need a x-acto knife with extra sharp blades

Measure the part you want to wrap, then cut a chunk of vinyl 1 to 2 inches larger all the way around. Clean the shit out of the part to be wraped. Then spray it down with the soap water, lay the vinyl over the part. The water will alow you to move the vinyl around with out it sticking. Once you have it even over the surface SLOWLY smooth with a soft cloth. When you have it smooth apply heat with the hair dryer to help push out air, the water and set the glue. Then just cut out the areas you don't want covered, like the AC icons.

Let me detail that part, the center compartment. Let just say you have your vinyl ready and all the other tools. You don't need to take the door off so just leave it alone. Spray it down with the soap water, lay the vinyl down, smooth with soft cloth. When it comes to the edges open the door and wrap over the extra vinyl and smooth. Now use the hair drier to smooth it even more working from the center out. An edge or two may pop up just use the drier to stick down again. Once its all smooth and stuck down trim off any unwanted vinyl an peel away.
