DOHC = Double over head cam SOHC = single over head cam
What is this thing and what does it do?

cams push the valves
valves let air in and out of the engine
more cams = more valves = more efficiency and power.
thats it in lamens terms... i could write an essay on cams if i had the time and modivation.
