So for my latest project I'm going to install a DC to AC power inverter in my glovebox for my laptop and other electronics like that, this means I'm going to have to hardwire a DC adapter (cig. lighter) behind the console. my question is: What would be a good source to hook the DC adapter to? the inverter has a power switch so i can hook it up to a constant source if I want. Help me out here everyone!

A good power source would be the existing cigarette lighter. I believe that the constant wire for that is red, so just tap into there.

That way, when you shut the car off, it will power it down.
