if you wanna do a search there are detailed guides on there. i can tell you where they are, but words can only do so much. you're gonna have to take off your valve cover. once you get your valve cover off, you will see all of your valves (surprise). along the cam shaft, all the way to the left of your car (when you are standing looking at your engine) will be two bolts. these are the lift bolts. if they are just worn, you can pop those 2 bad boys out, and throw the new ones back in. if they are broke, it's a whole nother story. thumbsup

^^ to add to that, you only need to change them on the '00-'02 gts models (they revised the bolts in the '03 & up)

www.teamcelica.com [teamcelica.com] has the best install guide i've seen of these as of yet thumbsup

I thought that you need to change the newer ones also, just not that often?

^^ you really don't need to. it doesnt hurt to change them out..but unless you run you car hard constantly or take your car to a track very often, i wouldn't worry about it. i've put about 5,000 miles on my new ones so far (no trouble) and i'm supposed to help another guy that lives here change his out either next saturday or the following saturday...i might take off my engine head while i'm at it and see how they are doing and i'll let you know how it comes out thumbsup

in any case--toyota's official word is that only the '00-'02 bolts need to be replaced and once the TSB (technical service bulletin) is taken care of--no more replacing of the lift bolts is needed (ever).

^^gimme a break, i just installed them earlier this summer happywink

my job requires me to drive pretty much an hour every single day (holidays, emergencies, etc)--except on thursdays and sundays. on those days i drive 1 and a half hours spineyes

i bought my car a year ago this month, it had 28k miles on it. i'm currently almost up to 67,000 thumbsdown which is one of the reasons i'm trying to get my hands onto a beater car to take the drive and use the celi for 'leisure'

Oh, ok.

I didn't think you put that much on your car a year.

I put most of mine on commuting to fucking college. I would have lived on campus, but I didn't want to wear a bullet proof vest.
