I installed KYB-AGX's & Tein S-Techs about six months ago. About 2 wks after install I had an alignment, rotation and balance. Ever since shakes at about 70 (3 additional rebalances) and slight drift.

Today I noticed the left rear of my car sits about 1/4" lower than the right and everything in my hatch is evenly balanced. Checked rear settings (thru cutouts) and left on 2, right on 3. I don't know where the setting indicator is in relation to what I could see, so I tried to set the left to 3 to what I could see...the freaking knob fell off angry. So I set right to 2 to match left. No change in the stance and still shake and drifts.

1. What could be causing the stance problem?
2. Could this cause the shake and drift?
3. How to see the indicator on the rear shocks?
4. Where the he!! to get free knobs?

Sorry to be long winded. confused

Are you absolutely sure the car was on a level surface when you got that difference of 1/4"?

When was the last time you got a 4 wheel computerized balance?

What kind of tires, rims and springs do you have?

Changing the setting on the struts wont change the height.

Are you going to try to get warrenty on the KYBs?? It might be the springs though...

isn't the knob for the struts on the bottom of the strut?? H

Yeah the knob is alongside the strut near the lower portion of the strut. Settings shouldn't change ride height only changes the dampening.

Are the rear springs the same height when you first installed them. They may not have settled properly.

KYB-AGX should warranty you for those knobs. They shouldn't break.

I've got Tein S-Techs installed same time as KYB's.

Wheels are 17" Exel Ritz balanced 4 times in 6 mos.

2 alignments in 6 mos. Last alignment 3 weeks ago.

Checked the rear settle on several flat surfaces (parking lots) and used the all-accurate finger b/t tire and chassis test. But just visually you can see a difference from the sides. eek

The knobs are located behind holes cut in my hatch tray plastics...and numbers appear on the knob sides...it didn't break but fell down behind whatever is back there. cry
