What could I do to my manual 04 Celica GTS to boost up the torque a lot?

Turbo, Nitrous, supercharger.

a lot? Foce Induction.
change pistons, head block, polish.
Apexi Power FC to fine tune the torque out put.

basically, no cheap way.

turbo and supercharger will boost your engine Performance on both horse power AND torque.

^^^ Lies!
The GTS is more capiable of it than the GT! Easy way to boost the GTS is Apexi FC and TPR CAI, TPR Exhaust, And DC Headers.. I've heard 200whp.

Basicly.. if your looking for tourque in a celica.. you've bought the wrong car... Celica's don't have cams aviable for them yet so therefore don't really have any HUGE boost jumps with a N/A setup

Last time I checked, 200whp and 130wtq wasn't supercar status.

Horse Power & Torque are mathematically locked together. When you increase horsepower, your torque increases. thumbsup

If you're gonna Turbo, a GT will perform Far better than a GTS. Make that TRIAL headers, better Performance than DC Sport. Thats 200whp to the flywheel.

Not always. But most of the time anyway.

Its a mathematical equasion. All else equal, if you increase horsepower, the torque increases. I posted the formula before.

The variations in HP correspond to the variations in torque. Take any dyno with HP & Torque on it. Take a random point of HP & you can calculate the torque. It should match up no matter what RPM you pick. thumbsup

trial header has not proven to be any better then DC sports header. which is sad cause you could buy 3 dc headers for the price of 1 trial header.

I agree that there is no cheap way.

You could stroke the motor and go ITB's, header, power fc, exhaust and get good N/A hp and tq. will take a lil work to make it streetable but hey it will get the job done lol

Intake and power fc I put down 183 whp and 135 wtq Not bad for a gts wink

GT is NOT better then then GTS in ANY category. even boosted. thumbsup

If you 're not looking for huge hp numbers go with a S/C and get great torque where ever you want. if you want to get the most power you can, go Turbo.

you get torque with a Turbo as well...but it only hits when the Turbo spools up to speed. For example my 97 eclipse gsx had 214ftlbs of torque at 3000 rpm. When i floored it...i just had the start off of say a gs (non Turbo)...but at 3000 rpm you hear the whoosh and all of a sudden you are planted against the rear of your seat. It also boosts horsepower.

Supercharger gives you torque right from the get-go because it doesn't have the lag time to wait for exhaust pressure to build up. However newer Turbo's are lighter and with less friction, so Turbo-lag is reduced somewhat...however generally the bigger Turbo the more lag...the more horsepower...but less driveability...

Oh and to put it in perspective...the GS eclipse has 140 hp and less torque (not sure of the figure and don't want to look it up) and the GSX had 210hp and 214ftlbs of torque...same 2.0liter engine (except Turbo with lower compression pistons)...so Turbo's definitely give you more than just horsepower...
