i found out like 2 weeks ago that my AEM CAI is around the height of the half part of the front lisence plate. which is pretty high.

from that day on i never worry about hydrolocking.

^^^That's how I think. I know you're joking, but my engine is 80,000 miles old and a brand new one is at say $6,000 would make me sell my car. Thats's good news. I have yet to blow my engine due to my CAI and the 5 inches of snow, torrential downpours, and the torrential hurricane like weather that I plowed through at 80+ MPH on the highway passing cars like they were standing still and hitting lift. The myth of hydrolock has to end it won't happen unless you are realy a moron.

Tell that to the people who hydrolocked their motors going though small puddles. Water will not behave predictably all the time. A certain speed in a certain way could be all it takes.

There is a huge difference in hydrolocking your engine, and sucking water into the Intake.

Hydrolocking your motor is when you suck water into your Intake in sufficient quantity (probably a tablespoon or two) to cause your engine to stop dead. You cannot compress water. This causes massive engine damage.

Does it have any chance to suck any bit of water so that over the years the water build up and will mess up the engine?

No, its a sudden event. Small quantities of water will simply evapourate, the motor is hot & combustion will continue.

You probably dislodged some grease or oil & it ended up on the belt. Or you just just got it wet & it squealed for a bit. That's pretty normal.

One time i had to go through a huge puddle of water there was no way to avoid it and it killed my car, it just shut off.eek but then i just started her back up and drove out of it. I think what happened was that the cai was submerged in water but the motor could tell it wasnt getting air so it just killed it. confused
But no damage was done thankfully.
