I'm assuming the first thing that would have to go would be my body kit, spoiler, ac, but I just can't do that. Isn't there some big piece of metal that isn't used that can be taken out of this car somewhere?

Anything is possible. I am sure that you could get the GTS to the sub ton weight...don't expect to have any luxurys like AC...or Power steering.

take out powersteering, abs, ac, rear jack, spare, power window motors, radio, ac duct, carpet, plastics, move engine/tranny/battery to rear, cruise control, sunroof, sunroof motor, rear wiper, rear defroster, spoiler, remake the frame out of aluminum, replace tires/wheels with lighter...

or, buy an elise.

Forget it unless you have $100,000 + spend and still drive you're car down the road. Even with every possible thing removed or lightened I think it still won't equal 500 LBS or be legal (like removing the doors, hood, etc. body panels). Now if you can gut the car, put on the lightest wheels and tire, lightest engine componants that still produce power and gains, lightest brakes that still perform, no glass, maybe a carbon fiber transmission, and titanium all around. You'll be there with those mods. Just like this car minus the engine and transmission -

that car is a tube frame chassis, that has a skin to reselmble the the celica, it never started out as a 00+ celica. thats a purpose built race car made to look like a celica.

500lbs is huge and no there isn't a hunk of metal you can take out aside from the engine and transmission that will even come close to that much weight reduction.

sell your celica and buy an elise.
