Having some problems with the Injen CAI install. The plastic air duct that attaches to the black box in front of the battery (ECU box I think) will not clip properly on an 03 because the upper lip is non existent. There is not enough plastic for the hose clamp to grab onto.

Also, the air filter rests down by slatted wheel wells – how do you keep the filter from getting wet? I live in Portland OR so that is a major issue. Thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not understand what you are saying in the first part. Can you provide pics?
As for the wheel well. Put tape on the slots. I did, and so did many others. thumbsup

for the first part, you arent supposed to put a hose clamp directly onto the ECU box. your supposed to cut the upper plastic tube in the middle and use the injen hose to sort of extend the black tube so that the original plastic tube is long enough to fit into the ECU.

as for the second part, i didnt really worry about it because water ingestion only really matters if the whole tube becomes submerged.

Not the whole tube, just the filter.

Thanks for all the help from everyone - especially Isaac. My shop guys bonked it and I did not know quite enough to tell them what was what. The cutting the plastic tubing was the X factor . . .

Installation round II pending.
