Well, I'm getting 19's in a few weeks. (hopefully)

Anyway, does anyone know what size tires are good and what the width of the rim should be?

Thx

your crazy eek, 19's shouldn't be used for daily driving, you will lose Performance. That is my opinion.

Stick with 17's, 18's max

19s look GREAT on celicas. Depends on the style of the rim..definitly gotta be careful though. Avoid potholes and ditches...those things will get damaged REAL easy. Not for daily driving but if you careful..you can pull it off..good luck and post pics when you get them thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

At the bottom of this page:

http://photobucket.com/albums/v398/markryder/

is a shot of my celica with 8,5x19 inch rims front&back with 235/35 tires. The car is lowered about 60mm front and 70mm back. (the rest are snaps of my old cars)

The rims have a 30 offset.

There isn't any scrubbing at all, except some times on full lock. Then the tires rub slightly against the wheel well plastic (towards the driver/passanger -- not towards the front of the car). If I push slightly at the plastic, the wheel doesn't scrub at all. So its ever so slightly, and just on FULL 100% lock. 30 profile tyres would fix that.
But I just don't care, 'cause its seldom it happens.

And it's my daily drive. And we have shitty roads. And I love it. And don't let anyone talk you out of 19's for your celica. 19's owns smile

Why not save the money from the 19's and tires and whatever else you plan on putting on your Celica and put that money towards your G35. I would be a target for shame and utter humiliation rolling around on those around here especially with no go. Maybe spend the money on a driving school so you don't bend anymore valves and learn how to drive smart avoiding the tickets. It's your car so you do what you want obviously. I'm just giving my opinion that's all. No harm intended.

Dam, does everyone get harassed for buying 19's? rofl

First off it's not like I go to the track as it is, and I'm not going to start if I got 17's or 18's. Actually I already have Konnig 17's.

And the only reason I haven't got a G35 yet is becuase I'm leaving Hawaii next June for good and moving back to the states, and I'm selling the celica. Also I got 6 tickets before I was 18. I'm almost 23 now and have only gotten 2. I think thats a slight improvement grin The bending of the valves was an accident, and that's all I'll say about that

Lastly, if you don't think I should get 19's then you can go eat a dick. "I'm just giving my opinion that's all"

I don't tell anyone how to fix up there car, cause it's their car and their money. I expected the same but I guess that was too much to expect.

By the way thx to those who actually gave me some useful info thumbsup

I was only giving my own opinion and being nice about it so you can suck on MY unit jerk off. You post here for the world to see and I or any one else can give an explaination or opinion whether you like it or not. I bent my valves by accident also and if you're selling your Celica why bother spending more money on it? I already said it's your car do what you want. You asked for it not me.

Yeah 19's look sweet. My rims are 19x8.5 and they only barely rub every once in a while when they are at full tilt. They look very clean though. I think that people that say that 19's look to big have their own opinion, but I say 19's look perfect and after having them, everything else looks too small. You do lose a but of performance, but if its something you're willing to do, then have at it.
BTW: my tires are 235-35-19. The other thing you give up is ride quality. But its worth it when everyone keeps staring at your car and saying damnnnnnnn... thumbsup

19s are definitely not too big for the Celica and are definitely not going to be a problem for everyday driving. This is just some bullshit that has been built up on these forums. Everyone seems to love small wheels in the US. Thats why the Celica comes with 15s standard there and everywhere else in the world gets 17s.

The majority of the top of the range BMW 3 series come with 19s. 19 inch wheels as standard on new cars are becoming much more common. Make sure you get a lightweight design and performance will not be effected. You might even find a slight improvement in your top end speed.

Most people who talk shit on 19s are probably jealous because they can't afford a set. Obviously make sure the car is sufficiently lowered if you go for 19s, but otherwise they're the ideal size. I know I've got 17s and they look really small, 18s are a slight improvement but 19s were made for the Celica!
