I know this has been posted before, but I coudlnt find it in the search.

The engine squeaks in the morning when its cold, or when it hasn't been used for a while. The squeaking goes away after a while, but its really embarassing/annoying when it does squeak. I remember there were several solutions for it. Anyone have the link or solution to the problem? I believe one of the solutions was getting the AEM tru pulley system or something..

take care,

duy

Sometimes it's water. Water will make the Belt Squeek, it does for me because everytime i fire up my GTS in the morning, it never squeeks unless there was heavy rain that night/day before. The belt is on the passenger side of the car, right next to the right front wheel.

You should be able to adjust it - or just try changing the belt. No biggie! thumbsup

They fixed mine like 10 months ago. And it's already started ever so slightly to piss me off and make noises again. My current celica is the 2nd celica (had the 6th gen aswell) and I feel like toyota doesn't have the same strict standards when it comes to quality in building the celica's. There were these small annoying piece of shit problems with the 6th gen, and now with the 7th gen it's the belt, had to replace the front lights 'cause of condensation, water some times leaks through the window when washing with high pressure jets. Never had any problems like these with any of my other toyota's. Just bugs me.

But I'm not going to sell it or anything like that. Owned a couple of german cars, and they had more faults. And those faults wern't cheap ones. Central locking breaking down, window wiper mechanism breaking down, had to replace a locking cylinder etc etc. I can't see how german cars got a reputation for beeing dependable. They're total pieces of shit.
