hey guys i have a GT auto and wanted to convert to a 5-speed manual tranny when my warrenty was up but then i heard that in europe and Japan the GT also came in 6 speed transmissions. i want to know if i would be able to adapt that tranny into my US spec celica. would it be very hard? what are the parts that i need? and is the 6 spped GT also availible in canada? thanks for any help.

I would think it would be cheaper to just trade in your car for a stick. Plus your car wouldnt be in the shop for weeks.

it would be pointless to convert to a 6 anyways if anything it would make the car accelerate slower than a 5 speed

sorry to burst your bubble, but they're all right.. you'd be much better off to just trade yours in on a manual

yeah, after much thought. i've come to the same conclusion. it would be much easier and faster to just trade in for a GTS manual tranny. no hunting for parts and warranty will still be intact.
