It is like impossiable I was not able to get it either! Many people have tried and cracked the shroud. I just got it as best I could and then put some silicone around it and it is still on.

i used a pair of big ass plyers, it scratched the silver thing a little bit, but no one can see it...if you get one side in a lil ways, the rest isn't that hard

i got a rat tail file and filed the edges of the shroud a little. just enough to easily tap it on with a hammer

btw rat tail file is a skinny round file that is small

First, you need the strength of the INCREDIBLE HULK. grin Nah, I heard a pipe works well but I did it with two 4X4's (WOOD) because it doesnt scratch or damage the piece and its pretty much all I could find. The point is to get the piece in straight and NOT side-to-side because as soon as you try pushing just one side in, the other side pops out. Note, that force will be needed because that piece goes in very tight but its not impossible. My suggestion would be to get a couple of friends and some beers cheers and take turns at it until someone pops it in... goodtimes

I actually managed to do it with my bare hands but it took awhile... I heard tapping it with a hammer is the easiest method

I actually cracked the bottom of the shroud just a little with some pliers, and forced the damn thing in there...no hioccups or problems so far, and the crack isn't really big enough for me to lose anything...plus that's the inlet that cools the ecu...no fluid goes thru there

what i did...

1. take a free 5 gallon wooden paint stick from home depot
2. take a mallet or hammer
3. lay on the ground and place the stick against the silver thing

4. hammer away. thumbsup

least the wood will be softer on the metal piece and its soo much easier getting in thumbsup and just take your time with the hammer ..piece of cake

It was the part that took the longest for me. I filed the side of the metal thing alittle, which was no sucess. Then I just put some oil all over it with no sucess. Me and my bud kept trying until finally he got it after half an hour of us both trying.

He was really cursing and I thought he hurt himself, but he did it.

well i filed mine a little so the hole was bigger but wat i found out was that the hole is directed exactly sideways so if you put it on the hammer it it has to stay directly over the holes or it will pop out. it was surprisingly hard.
