I lost the key (or tool thingy) to the wheel lock. Is it possible to replace it? I think the pattern is unique but still wonder if I can get one from Toyota. Anyone has this problem before. Damn, and I only painted the two calipars on my left side.

Toyota can probably get you another key. If not, you will have to have them removed which is probably tricky.

Personally I found them a pain in the ass & got rid of them.

I got the locks when I bought the car used. I was too lazy to buy a new set of lug nut to replace the locks. I am regretting it now. I don't want to drive it now because bad thing happen when you don't want it to. I don't want to get my car towed for hundreds of $$ for a flat tire.

What is making the tire leak? Will it hold air long enough to drive it to the garage? If not, you might be able to patch it yourself, but your going to need a way to inflate it.

Call them and ask if they have another one. Usually when you lose it you have to have your lug nuts cut off and replaced. Unless you bought it from a tire shop then they may have extra keys for you. My hubby works for Discount tire and they keep extras because people are always coming in to get a new key or have the lugs cut off.

Buy an ordinary pipe which is just slightly smaller than your locking bolt/nut -- then use a hammer to force the pipe onto the locking bolt/nut. then turn it around.

Or, if you've got access to welding tools, weld a pipe onto the locking nut/bolt and then turn it around.

Will cost you a pipe, but...

Any Toyota dealer should be able to come up with a lock; there's a limited set of them. If not, they can order one and have it within days.

Look at the papers you got wen you bought the car. all the stuff about waranties and stuff. There should be an order form to reorder your wheel lock key. costs 10$ and they'll mail it right to you. I had to do this but then i found the wheel lock key so now i have 2. oh well.

You can go to firestone and let them take off the lug nuts for u... it costs like $5 bucks for taking off 4 locks...But it destroys your locks so ... it should be your last option. thumbsup

Yep any good tire store will have "lock removers" which are basically a socket with gnarly reverse threads in them that chew into the lug and spins them off. I'm sure if You buy some new lug nuts from them they'll get the lockers off for You fer nada.

the dealer has a master set of lock keys, they find out what you have then order the key for you.

wheel locks are basically "anti gentle-man not anti theif"

but does give you a peace in mind if you have them.

toyota only has 7 patterns for their wheel locks and they usually have all 7 there so take it to them and they can remove it
