...the Xa, LOL! I know what your thinking, and I was thinking the same thing until I rode in it. That little bugger can move, I'm not saying its fast but its not slow either. The one we test drove had the AEM Intake and the TRD exhaust so I'm sure that helped.

I was shocked that my wife loved it but then again we both hated the TC. The TC looks good inside and out but we both hated the drive. Gear ratio is very short in 1st and 2nd, next to the celica that felt very odd. That and we didn't really notice the added hp or tq, I think the 3000lb curb weight had something to do with that.

So after we drove the TC we drove the XA and she loved it. I was shocked but the sales man saw it coming, he said girls love that car, he was right. It had more head room, leg room, and even arm room. Shifted more like the celica which made us both enjoy it more.

So we ordered a black one with TRD exhaust, 17" gunmetal wheels, TRD Springs, sub, spoiler, and an alarm. Now we just have to wait for it to come in from Japan and for the dealer to put the parts on. I'm going to add the other parts on my own because I can buy the other mods a lot cheaper than the dealer wanted for them.

wow, xa over the tc. my driving experience was quite diffrent. but congrats! how much did you get it for with all those options? make sure those bastards don't tack you with an "intallation fee" when you can do the install yourself for free.

It was 15k and change, I think the install fees are part of the mod price but I will call and check on that, thanks for bringing it up.

What can I say, how can I dis her for choosing the cheaper car on her own. The XA has a better insurance rate, better gas mileage, and its cheaper to own. "Go for it babe," is all I could say.

for sure. if she likes it then you can't go wrong. i just had a different experience. yeah, the scion dealership was tacking on 150 of floor mats for my fiance when i found the same floor mats at partz.net at 80 bucks!!. i suggest you find a trd exhuast on your own and install it yourself (it's like 3 bolts). for the tc they list it at 550...but i bet if you talk or look for other dealers they'll knock off 100 dollers off that. plus the whole amount of the car will go on to the monthly fees.

my fiance was planning to get an alarm and floor mats (total extra cost 650 dollars). at 270/mo. but i told her to get it elsewhere and i found them both for 280. it docked her payments down to 259. thumbsup

The ride was good it was the shifting we didn't like. We are booth used to the celica so it was odd. You don't need to rev the TC high, which I was, I put the tester into its redline in like a second in 1st and I was just like WTF.

I would have got used to it and so would she but she really just was not into the car. The clutch and gear ratio just iced the cake for her.

CT,

Your right, a lot of the parts I found for like half of what the dealer wants for them. They want $200 for footwell neons, I can do that for $30. Just about every part you can do yourself for less. The parts I listed where the ones they wanted a fair price on. You see floor matts are not in the list, LOL. spineyes

Congratulations, dude. I drove in one this past weekend with a friend; I agree, its really pretty nice, fast enought, and surprisingly roomy. I'd definitely take it over the tC.

Looks like CT was right, called them about the possible install fees. All the TRD parts cost extra to put in, so I had them 86 the springs and just sell me the exhaust.

We put the TSRM on my celica, no way in hell I'm paying out the ass for some tool to tighten two bolts for me. The celica was a snap I doubt this little terd will be any different.

FYI, all the "scion" parts the install is included in the price.

yeah,

it's always in the best interest of the dealer to get a car with all the trimmings. that way they charge for install fees and up the price of the equipment as well (a scion rep actually admitted to this. they order scions modded on purpose because that is where they make the most money..i dare not disclose her name as i might get her in trouble). it really is cheaper to go the stock route and buy all the other parts later to install yourself. thumbsup

Glad you didnt get the Xb, we test drove that, and its slow, has "ok" space and no towing, they need to drop v6's in these cars, that would rock!... and keep them under 20g would be ausome!!!! I would jump all over the Scion xB if it had a v6... and a towing package
