Celica Forums General Discussion General Anyone else have windshield washer problems?

The jets just slowed down to a trickle that barely hit the windshield a few days ago, and now they don't work at all. The wipers just go back and forth dry. Anyone else have this happen to them? I guess I can't complain too much after 75,000 miles...

Oh and, yes, I just filled it. Still no deal. I guess I can go out there and stare at it under the hood, but I'll probably end up going to the dealership.

try to check for any pinched tubes. other than that i have no idea.

if you open your engine bay, look near the passenger side strut tower. You'll see a triangle arrangement of bolts. Near that area is a black flexible hose.Your hood may be pinching it. That tube carries windshield washer fluid to the nozzles.

yea, check your hose on the passenger side, it happened to me before...it seems to be my front strut bar that was pinching the hose...

do wut they said, or else the holes where the water shoots from is clogged. shove a nail in it and ur fine

i have an added question, my rear winsheild wiper fuild nossle doesnt "spray" liquid, it just trickles down the rear window, is that normal?? or is it suppose to spray, and fan out across the windsheild?

^^^ mine does that also. I think it's normal and not suppose to spray. I could be wrong.

also on a side note.. if it wasn't the pinched tube.. it could have been that the filter on the wiper pump motor was clogged..

on my dad's '87 camry had the same problem on the front windshilds.. we stuck pins in the nozzles.. still nothing..
eventually i bought an aftermarket motor at kragen for about $20.. when i pulled out the old motor i saw the old motor's filter was clogged with BLUE stuff.. blue stuff from the windshiled fluid..i guess the coloring agent eventually gets clumped up together.. and bam.. clogged filter..

..now i cleaned it out and now use this
